Capoeira is a martial art originating from Brazil. It's roots are based out of african slaves who were transported to Brazil by the Portuguese to work on plantations. Using dance-like deceptive movements, the slaves were able to liberate themselves from their masters and seek refuge by building their own small cities in the Amazon.
